In addition, interactions between plants and rhizosphere-associated microorganisms are examined, as these can significantly influence metal availability and mobility.<\/p><p>From an applied perspective, these studies support the development of phytoremediation strategies (the use of plants for soil decontamination) and biofortification approaches (the enhancement of plants with essential nutrients).
